Every Rose

You found me, you were stunned by my beauty.
You wanted me for yourself, you wanted me all the time.
You picked me out, out from my home.
You cut off my legs, trimmed my skin.
You dressed me up to compliment you living space.
You put me in something nice and shiny, something to show me off.
You fed me just enough to barely stay alive.
You removed me from the sun, from the world I lived.
You took me away from all that made me what you loved.

Now I am starting decay, my blood is draining out.
My skin has started to fall apart and drift around this ornament you showcase me.
I no longer reflect the beauty you once saw, no longer compliment your life.
So you toss me away.
Just as beautiful as a flower.
